Hi everyone!

Today I’m going to delve into the fashion trends of 2023 so far and how this affects the world of social media marketing.

Target audience

It’s so important to keep up to date with trends in order to be relatable on social media and target your audience correctly. Who is my audience, you might be thinking?

Well you need to figure out who your content is going to attract. For example, if you’re selling kids clothes, then your audience is going to be parents and you need to target towards them. On the other hand, we here at Fashion Forward Marketing, focus on cool, elegant, quirky styles and our target audience is young women, aged between 16-30 or around this age group. We have found that our target demographic spends lots of time on Instagram in particular, so therefore, we generally will go to Instagram, to try and find what’s trending.

Sustainability

So, the question you’re thinking is probably… what is trending and how do I use that to my advantage in the world of fashion marketing?? Well, I’m here to keep you updated in all things fashion and trendy.

Based on my research, it seems that sustainability has been steadily growing since 2017 in particular and in my opinion, sustainable and ethical fashion is here to stay and is continuously growing more and more each day. It is becoming known as slow fashion. The opposite of fast fashion, a term which I’m sure we’re all quite familiar with by now. This could refer to buying better quality pieces, which may result in a higher price rather than many many cheaply made pieces of poor quality. As, we’ve heard of in the past, some company’s have been exploited for their poor working conditions and as we become more aware of this, we become more influenced to stay away from these types of fast fashion businesses. That’s a story for another day and another blog. What else could slow fashion be referring to, you may be thinking? Well it could be ‘pre-loved’ items of clothing, vintage clothing, clothing made in good working conditions, ones that have not been tested on animals.. and so much more.

Knowing the importance of sustainable fashion and what it means to our audience, will help fashion marketers target their ads correctly. We can focus on what to promote, how to promote it and who wants to see these ads. With that being said, sustainable fashion is only a fraction of what is trending at the minute and here at Forward Fashion Marketing, we are so excited to tell you all of the other trends that are happening and predicted for the future.

So, stay tuned and come back next week to hear all things about trends and how they will help you fashion marketers, market on your social media
